IPSD Postpones First Annual Mission
The Institute For Progressive Sustainable Development is moving its first annual medical
mission to Sierra Leone from January 15, 2022, to March 1, 2022, because of the surge of the
powered lighting to the villages in the Kono Chieftain, one of the mining districts of Sierra
Leone.
IPSD performs four medical missions annually in Sierra Leone. This is the first time it has had to cancel or postpone a medical mission. CEO Meriland Dillard, MD; “the last mission we went into one, of the many, Amputee Camps, and measured amputees for prosthetics and mobility devices. I very much want to return those devices as we promised those needing them we would come back. However, considering the Omicron Virus, we must protect our teams traveling there so we will postpone the mission until March 1st. This will give us time to see what effects if any, the virus will have on people.”
